()  Advanced digital conversion with pre-transfer video  correction.  To improve the quality of the picture that is captured and encoded to make up your DVD(s). With our advanced transfer process the  (picture) video signal is adjusted / corrected prior to the transfer taking place. The picture levels are monitored at several points along the tape and an average level for that tape is manually set up for Brightness, Contrast and Colour Saturation etc. Whilst this probably will not make any difference to perfect video recordings it does give an improvement to older videotapes recorded in the 1980s and 90s especially poorer quality second / third generation copies that were very common prior to the availability of digital processing .

() Encoded chapter points @ 5 minutes intervals   We insert  encoded chapter points in the DVD, normally set at 5 minute intervals to allow you to easily jump backwards or forwards to the point you would like to watch by pressing the buttons on your remote handset. This is an important feature as it saves you having to fast forward through the whole DVD.

() Full size DVD library case with your title Your DVD will be supplied in a full size Library style DVD case with your title printed on the case insert front and  spine and on the DVD disc face directly . (We don't use stick on labels.)

() Digital editing / backup file.   For increased security and flexibility we keep a copy of the Mpeg2 digital file that it captured from you video tapes and used to make your DVD . This file is held on our system for 30 days  (this can be extended if required) and gives you the opportunity to order additional copies or have changes made, editing carried out for you using our play & select editing service.
If you would like a copy of the Mpeg2 file for use on your own "PC" (it should work with most PC "MS Windows" based editing software ) we can copy it onto a data disc for a small charge of £5.see below

() Copy of Mpeg2 file on a separate data disc for use on your "PC"    The Mpeg2 digital editing / back up file can be copied on to a DVD data disc for use on your own "PC". (Please check that your editing software can work with Mpeg2 files) The Mpeg2 encoded disc will have plain text printed on it and will be supplied in a PVC wallet, this disc will work on a suitable computer only and can not be played on a DVD player. The cost is £5 (Please select customise your order to include this option) > more

() Easy Selection Menu    One of the advantages of a DVD is the ability to be able to go directly to a point close to where you would like the DVD to start to play. By incorporating our Easy Selection Menu the DVD starts with a menu page , allowing you to easily make the selection of the section you would like to jump to. At any time by pressing the 'menu' or 'title' button on your remote handset the thumbnail menu page is displayed, again allowing you to make the selection of the chapter you would like. Chapter points are normally set at regular intervals but may be adjusted to other points if more appropriate There is an additional cost of £5 (Please select customise your order to include this option) any additional copies ordered will also have the Easy Selection Menu included.

() Personalised DVD case and disc including 2 pictures   The DVD case can be personalised for you, A case insert can be made up for you with a design containing 2 pictures that are captured from your video (digital file) and your chosen title, The DVD disc has your title and the 2 pictures incorporated in colour with a matt finish. There is an additional cost of £5 (Please select customise your order to include this option) any additional copies ordered will be the same.

() Personalised DVD case and disc including up to 10 pictures   A case insert can be created for you with a design containing 2 pictures that are captured from your video (digital file) and your chosen title on the front, your title on the spine and up to 8 pictures and your title on the rear side. The insert is produced in colour and the DVD disc has your title and 2 pictures incorporated in colour with a matt finish. There is an additional cost of £10 (Please select customise your order to include this option) any additional copies ordered will be the same.

Sending Your Video and Camcorder Tapes to us.
We strongly  recommend sending your video  and camcorder tapes by royal mail special delivery or another trusted courier
Smaller camcorder tapes are best sent in their original plastic case in a good quality bubble wrap style envelope please label both the tapes and cases.
Full size VHS video tapes are heavy and can easily be damaged, we advise sending them in cardboard sleeves the type normally associated with blank VHS tapes, using a good quality bubble wrap style envelope or wrapped cardboard box. If possible try to bind the video tapes together or pack tightly to avoid movement and possible damage by colliding with each other if the package is shaken. Please ensure the actual video tapes are labelled  not just the sleeves.
If possible send an e-mail advising us of the delivery and tracking details if available, we will send a return e-mail advising of their arrival with us.

Can I use my DVD for editing?

There is not a simple answer to this question. With most domestic editing software you can't edit from a DVD without first converting the video content of the DVD to a suitable editable digital file usually Mpeg2 this is commonly known as ripping the DVD.

Digital editing / backup file

All our DVDs are individually made from your videos using digital hardware based computer technology and with our Advanced transfer service we also produce an editable digital back up file that we store for 30 days on our system, allowing you to order additional copies, editing etc.  This file is in an Mpeg2 format that is suitable for use with most Windows based PC editing software and we can supply a copy of this file for you on a DVD data disc for a small additional cost normally £5.The Mpeg2 file can be copied to your Hard Disc Drive on your personal computer and imported into suitable editing software  without having to be previously converted( Please check that your editing software can work with Mpeg2 files before ordering).
If you don't have editing software or experience problems carrying out the editing, our play & select editing service may be of help to you. If it less than 30 days from receiving the disc then we will have a copy of the file which we can access for from your reference number on the disc or if it is after 30 days then simply send the disc back to us so that we can copy the file back onto our system.

Can I make copies of my DVD?

The DVD is made from video material you supply so we do not put any restrictions on copying the DVD discs.
However our current additional copy price of £5 or down to £3.34 if you order 3 additional copies (Produced and presented the same as the main copy) may be worth considering.

Why 90 minuets Max ?

When analogue VHS video and camcorder tapes are transferred to a DVD disc along with the analogue to digital conversion that takes place the digital video signal also has to be compassed to fit onto a DVD this is complex subject but in simple terms, the higher the compression the more video can be fitted onto the disc but the quality reduces, a lower compression improves the quality but you can not fit as much video on the disc. We work to our tried and tested formula that offers "very good" quality, reliability and compatibility for both DVD players computers with a DVD ROM drive built in.

More than 90 mins on a tape to be transferred

If the tape duration is longer than 90 minuets then with split the digital file up and create 2 or more DVDs . These are placed in a double or triple cases as appropriate  and the disc are labelled as' Your Title' Disc 1 , ' Your Title ' Disc 2  etc.

Low level encoded transfers

The reputation of our products and services are very important to us. So we do not offer a low level encoded transfer service or carry out transfers using domestic DVD recorders.
