How much does it cost?

The cost for the pre-assessment service is £5 per tape or disc (This £5 will be deducted from the final cost if work proceeds)

(if either tape rescue, recovery work, editing, transfer to DVD or an individually tailored option is chosen for the tape or disc then the full £5 will be deducted from the total cost. if you choose not to proceed with any of our options, the tape (s) / disc (s) will normally be return royal mail 1st class recorded delivery)

How  does it work?

We will first inspect the tape / disc and assuming we are able play it, we will monitor the quality of the picture and sound at the beginning of the tape(s), we then forward the tape to the end of the recording and monitor the sound and picture quality at that point, we also note the duration of the recording. 

The information about the tape(s) / disc(s) quality, duration and a brief description of the content are e-mailed to you. 

If the tape(s) / disc(s) are suitable and you decide to go ahead with one of our services, complete the online order form and payment for the service required. When the order / payment has been received, the work will be carried out in the normal way and the payment you made for the pre-assessment service will be cancelled, returned or refunded which ever is the most appropriate.

For recovery work and individually tailored services, we will send you an invoice or online payment request with the pre-assessment cost reduction taken into account.

If the tape(s) / disc(s) are not suitable or you choose not to proceed with any of our options, they will be return by royal mail 1st class recorded delivery or another option you have selected.
